Access

Across the programme there are captioned, BSL interpreted and audio described performances, as well as other access provisions.

Event-specific access information is listed in a dedicated ‘Access’ section on each event page and performance-specific access provisions are also listed on the Schedule page.

Your experience and content guidance

Each event page also has a ‘Your Experience‘ section with a brief overview of what to expect from the event. There is also a ‘Content guidance‘ section to give you a sense of the show content.

Transform has an open door policy across the festival, meaning ticket holders are free to come and go as they need. If at any point you wish to leave a Transform show you are welcome to do so.


Covid guidance

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 before joining us for an event, we advise you test beforehand and follow NHS advice if you test positive.

Audiences are not obliged to wear face coverings but feel free to do so if you wish.

Carriageworks Theatre

Millennium Square, Electric Press 3, Leeds LS2 3AD

Please note, at Carriageworks Theatre, accessible tickets can be bought online at Leeds Ticket Hub or over the phone on 0113 376 0318. Wheelchair spaces can only be booked over the phone. 

Lift access is available to all levels.

An accessible toilet with baby change facilities is available on levels 1, 2 , 3 & 4.

CLAY: Centre for Live Art Yorkshire

1-2 Regent Street, Leeds, LS2 7QA

The venue has a single step to a single door that opens into the venue.

The door is 32 inches wide. There are two ramps, a short metal ramp as well as a longer metal ramp with a wooden platform for the step, to accommodate for a variety of wheelchairs.

Front of house staff will put this out upon request.

An accessible toilet (portaloo) will be hired for this event.

LEEDS 2023 Hub, Trinity Leeds

Unit 3.31, Albion Street Leeds LS1 5AT

This venue is on the Upper Ground Floor of Trinity Shopping Centre, at unit 105 between Philip Stoner and Fraser Hart Jewellers.

Access to this space is step free via the main shopping centre.

The nearest accessible toilets are at the top floor of the shopping centre, marked as 127 on the Shopping Centre Map.

There are 14 disabled parking spaces at Trinity Leeds Car Park on Swinegate which is open Monday – Sunday 24/7.

As part of Trinity Kitchen, Trinity Leeds has made a quiet room available for all who wish to use it for contemplation, prayer and reflection. This is located at C1 on the First Floor of the Trinity Centre Map.

Leeds Playhouse

Playhouse Square, Quarry Hill, Leeds LS2 7UP

There are electric wheelchair accessible lifts available to all floors.

There are eight accessible toilets, a changing place and family cubicles available.

There are eight accessible wheelchair spaces available in both the Quarry and Courtyard theatres (more usually available on request).

Leeds School of Arts, Leeds Beckett University

City Campus, Portland Way, Leeds, LS1 3PB

Leeds School of Arts is located off Portland Way in central Leeds (the building is adjacent to the Leeds Civic Hall/LGI).

There will be signage displayed outside the building directing you to the theatre.

There is step free to access to both the Black Box Theatre and the Main Theatre.

There are accessible toilets on every floor.

A rest area is available.

Getting to Leeds School of Arts

Leeds School of Arts is located off Portland Way in central Leeds (the building is adjacent to the Leeds Civic Hall/LGI). There will be signage displayed outside the building directing you to the theatre.


Leeds Train Station

New Station St, Leeds LS1 4DY

All entrances to the station are step-free and have automatic doors.

There are accessible toilets on the South Concourse.

There are two Blue Badge parking spaces remain within 50 metres of the station entrance.

Left Bank Leeds

145–149 Cardigan Rd, Burley, Leeds LS6 1LJ

Some seating will be available in the form of benches and high-backed chairs.

There is step free access to the event.

Left Bank does not have accessible toilets, so Transform have provided one accessible toilet which can be accessed next door to the venue at The Cardigan Centre.

Two limited accessible parking for blue badge holders can be booked beforehand by emailing hello@leftbankleeds.org.uk.


Outlaws Yacht Club

38 New York St, Leeds LS2 7DY

There is step free access to Outlaws Yacht Club and an accessible toilet.


Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre

 2 St Cecilia St, Leeds LS2 7PA

Wheelchair spaces can be booked in the front row on the level access auditorium floor directly with the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre team. You must book wheelchair spaces over the phone with the venue, on 0113 220 8000.

There is an automatic door at the entrance to the building.

There is level access to the foyer and auditorium.

There are accessible toilet facilities (alarmed and with help assist).

There are allocated spaces for wheelchair users available in the auditorium.

There is a hearing induction loop at Reception and in the auditorium.

There are braille signs in the building.

There is lift access to all floors of the building.

The Warehouse in Holbeck

Crosby Street, Holbeck, Leeds LS11 9RQ

There is one accessible toilet at the venue.

Getting to The Warehouse in Holbeck

If you are driving, there is on-street parking available on Ingram Road.

Please note that the other surrounding streets are residents-only.

Blue badge holders are welcome to park on Crosby Street.

The venue encourages you to use public transport, cycle, walk or wheel wherever possible. You will be able to store any bicycles inside the venue. The closest bus stop is called Holbeck – Pleasant Place on Domestic Street, which is 5 minutes walk from the venue. Routes 55, 55C 65, 75, 86, 87 and R1 stop and collect from the stop.


Yorkshire Dance

 3 St Peter’s Square, Leeds LS9 8AH

There are lifts that access all floors of the building and can be used by wheelchair users.

There is at least one accessible toilet for wheelchair users on every floor of our building.
