Watch the making of SECRETS

Last year for Transform 23, artist Ásrún Magnúsdóttir and Transform brought together a group of young performers to create SECRETS.

Using crowd-sourced secrets collected by Ásrún from teenagers in both Leeds and Reykjavík, together they wrote a set of original songs.

Giving voice to the real-life concerns of young people, the resulting performance was both uplifting and heart-rending.

Opening the festival with a sold-out performance, in The Guardian’s words:

‘Though the secrets were often dark, the experience itself was joyous.’

Supporting and collaborating with young people is a vital part of Transform’s work and through SECRETS and the accompanying Young Curators project If walls could talk, we worked to nurture people aged 16-21 as creatives, curators and changemakers.
