One month to go!
September 23, 2025

There’s just one month to go until Transform 25!
Today we’re sharing exciting activity imagined by our incredible Young Curators; revealing the full line up for performance, possession + automation’s Surrender – a day of performances at The Warehouse in Holbeck; and encouraging you to check out our series of free artist-led workshops.
As we bring together extraordinary artists from across the globe in Leeds this autumn, alongside our programme of performance, dance, theatre and more, we invite you to join us to gather, share and look to a different kind of future.
Plus stay tuned for a Doomsday Disco on sale announcement coming very soon…

Young Curators at Transform 25
Over the last year, Transform’s Young Curators, a group of nine multidisciplinary artists and creatives, have been busy at work learning what goes into making an ambitious international festival happen.
During Transform 25, experience a number of interventions designed by them, offering moments for pause and reflection within the festival.
The Olive Tree: A Living Archive takes root at Leeds Kirkgate Market alongside Dear Laila, Thursday 23 – Saturday 25 October. Audiences and passersby are invited to share their reflections on home, memory and displacement.
Throughout the festival, TALK TRANSFORM badges will be available upon entry to our many venues. Spot someone else wearing one? Say hello and swap thoughts. The badges are the Young Curators’ idea to create a simple way to spark conversations between strangers and turn powerful performances into shared moments of connection.
For our second informal Happy Hour at Outlaws Yacht Club, the Young Curators will be around to chat about their work, including sharing their experiences of collaborating with a cohort of Nairobi based Young Curators as part of our Making Space project.

Surrender: announcing the full line up
Surrender brings together an exciting line up of artists for a day of playful experiment and serious entertainment, with food and conversation.
The full line up of artists joining us is: Åbäke; Gillian Dyson; Tara Fatehi; Eisa Jocson and Venuri Perera; Samra Mayanja; POPPERFACE; Imogen Reeve; Sonia Sandhu; Nicola Singh; Eve Stainton and Florence Peake.
Breaking up the day, Bradford born & based chef, artist and creative producer Sonia Sandhu will be serving a shared lunch which traces the themes of surrender through her menu – surrendering to the influence of heritage, to the power of time and processes that evolve through fermentation, pickling, and slow cooking.

Free artist-led workshops
Another reminder about our free, artist-led workshops offering opportunities to dig deeper into our line up of powerful international performance.
From a movement workshop centred around the broom; to a lecture-performance with a focus on Black music; to a workshop combining choreography and autobiography, these three workshops offer unique insight into the practices of intrepid artists from across the globe.
