Transform 23 is over and it’s been nothing short of spectacular!

Our most ambitious edition yet was realised across Leeds to our biggest ever audiences – with incredible feedback.

Here, we look back on week two – from the riotous Pumpitopera Transatlantica, to the meditative SOTTOBOSCO.

'Powerful, Political, Magical'

Three years in the making, Brazilian collective MEXA astonished audiences with Pumpitopera Transatlantica across three nights at The Warehouse in Holbeck.

'Mesmerising, Transformative, Powerful'

ONE SONG’s UK premiere was met with a standing ovation on both evenings – more than living up to its hype as a New York Times selection for best European theatre in 2022.

'Informative, Powerful, Entertaining'

Over the busiest days of the programme, Transform exploded across venues all around Leeds – from Yorkshire Dance, to Carriageworks Theatre and Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre at Northern Ballet to name a few.

'Unusual, Interesting, Inspiring'

At Leeds School of Arts, Leeds Beckett University, we presented a double bill that brought together Katy Baird’s Get off and Out of the Blue, programmed by Transform’s Young Curators, which Leeds Living said was ‘highly thought-provoking’.

'Ethereal, Expressive, Liberating'

As well as the moving, the challenging, the spectacular – at Transform we also bring the FUN. Our finale, CLUB ODYSSEY, brought together incredible local DJs and performers with the magnificent MEXA.
