The latest photos from our New Dimensions commission

Tue 06 Feb 2024

We were in Brighton in January, catching up with Dan Daw Creative Projects during their technical residency at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts.

We were there in our capacity as New Dimensions commissioning partners. New Dimensions is a collaboration between Transform (Leeds), Battersea Arts Centre (London), Take Me Somewhere (Glasgow), Tramway (Glasgow) and Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (Brighton) which supports UK artists to scale up their practice and create ambitious new work for national and international touring.

Check out these photos from their process as the company devises their new performance Exxy, set to premiere in autumn 2025.

About

New Dimensions is a collaborative commissioning programme with Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, Battersea Arts Centre, Take Me Somewhere, Glasgow Tramway and Transform.

The Exxy R&D was also supported by An Unlimited Strategic Award 2023.

Dan Daw Creative Projects is a disabled-led company that blurs the divide between theatre and dance. Led by Dan Daw, the company collaborates with a growing network of companies and artists to develop and tour new performance work. Dan says the work explores what it means for his queer, Crip body to occupy and be unapologetic in, non-disabled spaces. The company is interested in the function access, care, consent and interdependence has in those spaces.
