As the remnants of civilisation burn and the vultures begin to circle, we hunker down in the industrial sanctuary of Testbed for a night of queer hedonism and artistic experimentation.
Join Transform 25′s grand finale, hosted by the creators of iconic Leeds club night Love Muscle.
A top team of aural scientists comprises of leading jazz-fusion researcher Joe Hell of the Lift Your Feet division; sound system aficionado and beat synthesist BOSSdaddy from the Cosmic Slop laboratories; and sonic healer, Day Dot, of the underground queer resistance fighters Lick Quid Gold, armed with her deadliest dancefloor weaponry to close off the night.
All the while our most dazzling performers will slither, dangle, and unfurl around the dancefloor in a bid to awaken your senses and to change your expectations of what a club night can be.
The end is nigh; let’s dance!
Profits made from The Pleasure Dome Must Be Built parties go towards their fundraiser for a new, permanent, event space for the queer community in Leeds.
Performers
K Walker is a multimedia artist born and based in West Yorkshire. Their work spans sculpture, costume, performance, poetry, drawing and film with focus on themes of queerness, otherness, illness, escapism and sensuality. Solo shows include ‘No Ordinary Love’ (2025) as part of LAX at FiiK studios, ‘Shrine to The Other Woman’ (2022) at SCREW Gallery and ‘I’M SCARED OF CHOCOLATE BARS’ (2022) at Village Books.
K will be performing work as previously seen in ‘Shrine to The Other Woman’.
Dairy King is a milkman drag monstrosity. He has had the great surprise of touring all over the UK and some recent venues and ventures include a specially curated silent tour for the Wellcome Collection’s Milk Exhibition, Bristol’s Tobacco Factory, The Clapham Grand, Fierce Festival Birmingham, Soho Stage for London Pride, the National Theatre’s River Stage, the Alexandra Palace fireworks display, the V&A museum, Torture Garden and some guys 23rd birthday party. Dairy King plays with vulnerability, through the eyes of both human and beast, with lip-sync, live vocals and physical theatre.
Alice Boulton-Breeze is a producer, live artist and drag performer, and uses sculpture and sound within her performances and installations. Alice’s artworks often use personal objects, poetry and costume, and explore loss, memory and death. At Doomsday Disco, take a walk with Alice through her edification at the end of the world. Watch her become tarred and feathered and leave a trail behind her, possibly for others to follow.
Wooshy is a multimedia artist and performer, exploring sensuality, androgyny and the divine through their movement practice. They are interested in pan-African, DIY and counter-cultural practice that above all else seeks to “imagine new ways of being”. They have performed at OUT OUT Bradford and various other club and queer performance events.
