INTRODUCING OUR NEW TRUSTEES – NICK DYSON & NADINE PATEL

Tue 08 Feb 2022

Following a recruitment process, we are over the moon that Nick Dyson and Nadine Patel are joining the Transform board.

Bringing a wealth of experience to the organisation from their respective sectors, Nick and Nadine join Transform at an exciting and critical time, as we work towards realising our most ambitious and inclusive festivals yet in Autumn 2023 and Autumn 2025.

INTRODUCING OUR NEW TRUSTEES – NICK DYSON & NADINE PATEL

Nick Dyson is a Partner at Blacks Solicitors and heads up both the Commercial Property team and specialist Holiday & Home Parks team. Nick joined Blacks in 2002 from an internationally recognised ‘Leeds Big Six’ firm and is a well-known and respected name in the Leeds legal market for practical, commercial and legal advice. Nick has been active in supporting community organisations and as such, has been a board member at Sinai Synagogue, Leeds (2018-2021) and East Street Arts (2016-2021) and recently became a member at Leeds Community Foundation.

Nadine Patel has worked in the arts sector for over 26 years supporting artists and arts organisations to develop and strengthen their opportunities and growth. As a creative consultant she draws upon her wide-ranging knowledge of contemporary arts practices and networks to provide specialist advice, as well as participating directly in project design, implementation, research, and evaluation. She has extensive transnational experience and can activate a wide network of contacts, both in institutional and grassroots organisations across Europe, Latin America and Africa. Nadine also works regularly for a range of UK higher education creative institutions such as the Royal College of Art, University of the Arts London, Glasgow School of Art, Royal Northern College of Music and Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.

Nick and Nadine join the Transform board at a particularly exciting time, joining Chair Jane Bhoyroo (Producer for Yorkshire Sculpture International), Deputy Chair Ben Walmsley (Director of the National Centre for Cultural Value at University of Leeds) and trustees Rach Drew (Co-director of ARCADE, Scarborough), Ingrid Banerjee Marvin (Executive Producer of East Street Arts) and Toni-Dee Paul (Independent Artist)

Transform’s Chair of the Board Jane Bhoyroo says:

‘We are thrilled that Nadine and Nick are joining us at this exciting and pivotal moment in Transform’s development. Nadine is a creative consultant in the arts who brings significant expertise of working internationally with artists and brokering visionary collaborative partnerships. Nick has extensive knowledge of Leeds, as a local resident and as a partner at leading law firm Blacks Solicitors LLP where he heads up the commercial property team. Both Nadine and Nick are great assets to Transform’s accomplished board of trustees and outstanding staff team.’

Transform’s Creative Director Amy Letman says:

‘These two key trustee appointments are coming at a hugely important moment for Transform as we build towards our most ambitious international festivals yet in 2023 and 2025. Nick is absolutely rooted in Leeds and brings a distinctive and important take on our work alongside vital legal and professional expertise. Nadine’s international knowledge is outstanding and she fundamentally believes in the role that Transform can play in imagining a future model of the festival that is deeply collaborative and rooted. As Transform enters a new phase of maturity and ambition, I’m thrilled that the board is growing and that such brilliant people are joining us on this journey.’
