WELCOME, INGRID & RACH
May 30, 2020
We are thrilled to welcome two new Trustees to the Transform board, Ingrid Banerjee Marvin and Rach Drew…
Ingrid Banerjee Marvin
Ingrid is an arts producer who recently relocated to Leeds to work as Artist Support Lead at East Street Arts, a role that involves working strategically to maintain oversight of the organisation’s artist support offer through the Sector Support Organisation program Guild. Prior to this, she worked as Creative Producer for Dismantle Productions, whose credits include Dismantle this Room – an interactive escape room that aimed to tackle power structures in the arts industry (Royal Court, Bush Theatre). She has also worked at venues including the Almeida Theatre, National Theatre, Tamasha and the Bush Theatre in roles focusing on participation, engagement and the development of new writing.
“Having just moved to Leeds, I see joining Transform as a trustee as an excellent way to get to know the city whilst getting an in-depth understanding of how the organisation runs. I’ve always admired the quality and variety of work that Transform presents, and can’t wait to get started.”
Originally trained as a theatre director, Rach has had a varied career across the arts, from founding her own youth theatre, to work as a festival producer and collaborating with communities in museums to creating exhibitions for local artists. Rach was a founder member of staff at York Mediale and helped to build the organisation into the largest media arts festival in the UK. As Exec Director, Rach raised over 750k for the organisation and was responsible for the delivery of a complex, citywide, festival programme including over 50 events.
Rach is Co-Director at ARCADE, a community producing company based in Scarborough and a Trustee of Scarborough Museums Trust.
Passionate about the arts and how they can be used to create social change, Rach is excited to work with Transform as the organisation evolves.
“I am extremely excited to be involved with Transform and I am passionate about helping Amy and the team to achieve the ambitions of the company.
I attended Transform festival in 2019 and was absolutely blown away by the quality of the programming and range of artists contributing.
At present, the future for the arts is uncertain, and changes will have to be made in most organisations. I cannot wait to work with Transform, a company which already holds artists in its heart, to create new ways of working for the festival.”
