“Triumphant. Heartfelt exercise in community theatre.”
“With WANTED, we wanted to find out what audiences really wanted to see, if they were allowed to want anything at all. We wanted to remind them ― and ourselves ― that theatres are civic places. They’re places where we come together to think about what we want, not just as individuals but as participants in a whole society, as citizens of a changing country and inhabitants of a changing world.”
– Chris Goode, Lead Artist
To launch the newly independent Transform, we commissioned Chris Goode & Company (creators of 9, Transform 12) to make a brand new show. Starting with a totally blank canvas where anything could happen, they decided the show into three minute segments and asked people across Leeds – what do you want to see on stage?
“WANTED considers who is given a voice, who is represented on stage, and how.”
