FUTURE RADICALS – CORE ARTIST & PROJECT MANAGER
Posted on 14 Jun 2018
We are excited to be recruiting two new roles to support Future Radicals, a major new project designed for young people aged 16-21 in Leeds. Future Radicals will bring together a collective of young people who will collaborate with ground-breaking artists and create bold performance led by their ideas, creativity and politics. Inspired by international youth theatre practice, the programme will empower young people to be artists in their own right and will culminate in a young people’s led micro-festival as part of Transform 19. Future Radicals is supported by a Paul Hamlyn Foundation Explore and Test grant, and with funding from Leeds Inspired, part of Leeds City Council.
We are recruiting for two freelance roles that will be fundamental to the realisation of Future Radicals:
We are seeking an independent theatre maker or performance artist who will be an ongoing artistic facilitator for Future Radicals. You will be an experienced artist with your own practice, an imaginative facilitator and an open collaborator. You will have the experience, skills and sensibilities needed to shape and deliver practical workshops for young people. You will facilitate a curatorial and devising process and play a leading role in the development and realisation of Future Radicals.
Fee – Between £5000-£6,600 for between 40-55 days work between Aug 18-May 19.
Plus travel/accomm for non-Leeds based artists.
We are looking for a Project Manager with brilliant organisation skills and varied experience shaping and managing projects with young people. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of workshops, rehearsals and performances. You will have experience working with young people from a variety of backgrounds and be an experienced and diligent safe-guarder. You will be a main contact point for the young people and contributing artists, and will play a leading role in the successful delivery of Future Radicals.
Approx 2 day per week engagement between Aug 18-May 19, Fee £100 p/d.
Must be based in Leeds or nearby.
