Next Wave

Next Wave is part of Transform‘s engine room and commitment to enabling artists in Leeds and the wider North to create the Next Wave of bold and urgent performance.

Every year or two we join forces with a different set of Northern based artists. Collaborating from the seeds of ideas to full realisation together we produce brand new pieces of work for Transform festivals and then beyond.

Jamal Gerald is an artist based in Leeds.
His work is conversational, socially conscious, a celebration of individuality and focuses on identity and lived experiences. Mostly making the type of work that he wants to see. Trying to make sure that each piece he creates is a different form to the one he made before. He has made work for poetry slams, films, parties, cafes and theatres.

70/30 SPLIT

70/30 Split is comprised of Lydia Cottrell and Sophie Unwin, a female performance duo who choreograph satirical and provocative dance through words, singing and stomping. They are the curators of York based performance platform SLAP.
