a Soft Rapture

Over the course of an evening and well into the night, a Soft Rapture (curated by Leeds-based Sable Radio) explores what an alternative club space could look like. Leaning into a more meditative, intimate and collaborative environment, a Soft Rapture combines DJ’s, performance and movement practices to explore how club spaces can facilitate both hedonism and healing.

Transforming the traditional club space into something otherworldly, a Soft Rapture challenges what we know as a club environment to shape a vibrant, inclusive and alternative experience. We’re excited to reveal the full line up of artists as curated by Sable Radio.

With music, performance art, and film, Bonaventure attempts to materialise feelings of empathy, mourning, togetherness and celebration, while finding new ways to belong in the cultural continuum of Otherness.

Joviale is a multidisciplinary artist from North London making otherworldly, immersive music that plays with “minimal textures, killer interjections and vocals that are equal parts restraint and rage.” (The Times)

One of London’s most original and exciting DJs, a Cõvco set combines a hi-energy mix of footwork edits and experimental dance music resulting in a frenzied dance floor experience.

Raised on a heady mix of Channel U + emo, and later wedded to the art of ballroom and latin dance, marjai marries global drum sonics with scuzzy d.i.y ethos, foraying into the darker, experimental territories of club and avant-garde for his Sable Radio residency and burgeoning Leeds collective Rat Party. You might also find him co-scheming with his NARR radio family or repping QTIBPoC kiki house, House of Flava, in the North’s flourishing vogue ballroom scene.

LUSCIOUS is a DJ & Creative based in Leeds who hosts the monthly Sable Radio show ‘XTRAVA:GANZA’. His DJ sets often blend between old school rave tracks and fresh club edits to repurpose the euphoria and hi-NRG of the music he grew up listening to into a contemporary sound.

Sable Radio is an online radio station and creative media platform made in Leeds and enjoyed worldwide. They broadcast, curate programmes, produce podcasts and films, run workshops and throw parties. Sable Radio has worked on projects with partners including Black Obsidian Sound System, Fact Liverpool, Leeds West Indian Carnival and Leeds 2023 as well as producing a range of in-house projects such as Separation Anxiety and ReSound.
