Transform 19 will unfold across the city in Spring 2019. Full of disruption and discovery, the festival will bring bold theatre and events by groundbreaking artists from around the globe to theatres, arts venues, clubs, car parks and community centres in Leeds. With one year to go until this ambitious international festival, we invite you to join a toast to the journey ahead and to be part of making Transform 19 happen.
Join us for a complimentary drink and to hear from some of the artists who are already concocting projects for Transform 19. Grab a bite to eat from the BBQ.
The party will get started with a DJ set from Michael Upson (Love Muscle) and a set by Brazil’s performance party duo Noporn.
This is a free event – tickets are available at Eventbrite.
We invite you to make a suggested donation on the door of £10 or more.
Donations are optional and any funds raised will go directly towards making the next festival happen.
Transform is an engine room for urgent of the moment theatre in Leeds, and the creators of the biennial international Transform festivals.
Normally found chasing the dizzying club scenes of São Paulo and Rio De Janeiro, performer Liana Padilha and producer Luca Lauri make up Noporn. Their breath-taking fusion of electro and Brazilian beats symbolises love, pain and fear in the life of a big city. Performing for the first time in the UK, this specially created set for Transform features live visuals and invites you to the dance floor.
