El Conde de Torrefiel
West Yorkshire Playhouse
Fri 21 & Sat 22 April
Guerrilla arises from the need to translate on stage the uncertainty of our historical present: the constant sense of conflict, with others and with the environment. The feeling of tiredness and overexploitation, the lack of time for reflection and control over one’s life, the constant need for action, to survive, to be alert. What does the question “every man for himself” mean?
The 21st Century has thrown us into a crisis of values and has revealed that it is urgent to rethink our condition. There is an active war between systems that is taking place in the field of symbolic.
Guerrilla is the urgency of sharing these doubts. This is why the production requires 80 local participants, to whom we give the stage – to fill it with their presence, their body and their stories.
